Alexia is a United States Air Force paralegal originally from Denver, Colorado, and currently residing in Maricopa, Arizona. She is the founder of Gentle Touch of Comfort, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing solace and support to survivors of sexual assault. Through her nonprofit, Alexia has partnered with Banner Health to ensure that every survivor coming in for a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) exam has the option to receive a handmade crocheted blanket. In addition to this initiative, she offers crochet classes to the community as a therapeutic coping mechanism for those dealing with trauma.
With a personal mission to help others find meaning and purpose in their experiences, Alexia mentors individuals navigating their own journeys from trauma to triumph. By sharing her story and guiding others, she believes that healing can lead to profound transformation. Her work is rooted in the belief that turning pain into purpose can help create a more compassionate world.
