Elrigh Louw

Elrigh Louw
Professional Rugby Player, Springbok Loose Forward.

Elrigh Louw made nine appearances for the Springboks in 2024 and was poised for a big 2025 Test season before suffering a knee injury while captaining the Bulls in the United Rugby Championship. Known for his destructive ball-carrying ability, Louw possesses the strength to break through tackles and gain ground, while also showcasing the skills to offload in the tackle or pass to a teammate in a better position. He is a dominant defender and a reliable option at the back of the lineout.

Louw began his international career with four matches for the Junior Springboks in 2019 before playing Pro14 rugby for the Southern Kings. He joined the Bulls in August 2020, helping Jake White's team win Super Rugby Unlocked, the Currie Cup Premier Division, and finish top of the Rainbow Cup SA log. Louw further enhanced his reputation during the inaugural United Rugby Championship and made his Springbok Test debut against Wales at Loftus Versfeld in 2022. In recognition of his performances, Louw was named the Bulls Forward of the Year after their strong 2023-24 URC campaign, which saw them reach the final. He was later recalled to the Springbok squad.
