
Jesse Itzler is an entrepreneur, author, and motivational speaker, renowned for his unconventional approach to business and life. Born on August 22, 1968, in Roslyn, New York, Itzler earned a bachelor's degree in 1990 from American University, majoring in justice, law, and society.
Itzler's career began in the music industry under the pseudonym Jesse Jaymes. In 1991, he released his debut album, "Thirty Footer in Your Face," and co-wrote songs for various artists, including Tone Lōc. He gained recognition for his single "Shake It Like a White Girl," which reached number 74 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1991 and was later featured in the 2004 film "White Chicks."
Transitioning into entrepreneurship, Itzler co-founded Alphabet City Sports Records in 1996, blending classic arena songs with historical sports highlights. The company was sold to SFX in 1998. In 2001, he co-founded Marquis Jet, one of the world's largest private jet card companies, which was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway's NetJets in 2009. He also partnered with Zico Coconut Water, which was sold to The Coca-Cola Company in 2013.
An endurance athlete, Itzler completed a 100-mile run in under 24 hours in 2006 and participated in the 2012 SEA Paddle NYC, a 25-mile stand-up paddle race around Manhattan. In 2022, at age 53, he completed the Ultraman, comprising a 6.2-mile swim, 261.4-mile bike ride, and a 52.4-mile run.
Itzler is married to Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, and they have four children. The family resides in Georgia.
