Social psychologist, bestselling author, and one of the world’s foremost thinkers on morality, culture, and the psychology of politics.

Jonathan Haidt is a social psychologist, bestselling author, and one of the world’s foremost thinkers on morality, culture, and the psychology of politics. A professor at the NYU Stern School of Business, Haidt’s groundbreaking work explores the foundations of human values, ethical behavior, and how people across cultures and political divides construct meaning and identity.

He first gained international recognition with The Happiness Hypothesis, a synthesis of ancient wisdom and modern science. But it was his 2012 book, The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion, that catapulted him into the global spotlight. In it, Haidt explains why liberals and conservatives see the world so differently - not due to ignorance or bad intent, but because of deeply rooted moral intuitions shaped by evolution, culture, and community.

Haidt has become a leading voice in conversations around polarization, free speech, and the health of democratic societies. In 2018, he co-authored The Coddling of the American Mind, which examines how shifts in parenting, education, and social media are affecting the mental health and resilience of young people. His insights have sparked global debate about emotional fragility, ideological conformity, and the need for intellectual diversity on university campuses and in society at large.

As co-founder of the Heterodox Academy, Haidt advocates for viewpoint diversity, open inquiry, and constructive disagreement in higher education and beyond. He is also a co-author of the influential “After Babel” essay series, analyzing how social media is fragmenting public discourse.

As a speaker, Haidt is thoughtful, provocative, and deeply informative. He speaks on topics including moral psychology, leadership, institutional trust, technology’s impact on youth, and bridging divides in a polarized world.
