Tony Usidamen is a renowned communications expert and social advocate. He is the founder and lead consultant of Uburu, an integrated marketing
communications consultancy, and he has proven competence in public relations, branding, events & activation, corporate social responsibility (CSR) advisory, stakeholder management, and crisis communication.
Prior to Uburu, Tony was head of communications for leading industrial and commercial conglomerate, Dana Group. It was he who led crisis communication
efforts, and guided Dana Air back to successful operations, following the tragic accident of 3rd June 2012. His work is referenced as a positive case study in The Handbook of International Crisis Communications Research.
A brilliant writer, Tony has lent his expertise to biographies of two serving Nigerian governors, as well as an ex-governor. And he has been involved in content creation for marketing of investment summits hosted by the
governments of Anambra, Edo, and Enugu state. He has also penned speeches for many high-ranking public officials and business leaders.
Tony is blessed with the gift of the gab, and he is well sought-after as a conference speaker, media analyst, and event host. He has featured many times as a guest on Channels TV Sunrise Daily, and he is a regular analyst on
TV Continental (TVC) News, Silverbird News24 and Plus TV Africa News, among
other programs.
A Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC), Fellow of the Institute of Brand Management of Nigeria (FIBM), Member of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (MNIPR), Associate Registered Practitioner in
Advertising (ARPA) and Platinum Member of the Under40CEOs network, Tony’s work has earned him several awards and recognition, home and abroad.
Tony is the convener of the ‘I am Edo’ Movement—a citizen advocacy group for good governance, and he is a faculty member at the Electoral College Nigeria where he teaches Democracy and Citizen Participation.
